In this video I start off covering the Eid prayer for CLIC and all the fun there. Following our Eid tradition we go to the Kemah boardwalk and my kids saw the Boardwalk beast and so I go over my first ever job in photography and the mindset that I had coming into this retail photography position. It was a big change for me being that I just moved from Chester, Pennsylvania to Houston, Texas. I remember being so hunger and eager to just make a new life here. It was nice to revisit the Kemah Boardwalk, after spending summers there working.
My point with this video was to seize the opportunities handed to you no matter how bad they suck and keep a compass pointing north toward your dreams you have. I am nowhere near where my goals are but I do recognize my progress.
Distractions; All of us have them for sure. Ramadan is an escape from those normal unexpected ones, that we police our ourselves from. We cage our natural instincts to provide a spiritual safe haven to build the light in our souls and remove the black spots from our hearts in an accelerated manner. WE invest that time toward the good by reading Quran, sacrificing normal sleep to participate in night prayers, hitting our normal prayers on time, remembering Allah, or doing good righteous deeds. In tow with abstaining from negative acts and even removing things that are normally allowed for the sake of gaining a higher spirituality toward our Lord.
The beauty of it all is we are aided with Allah’s (SWT) help by him closing the gates of hell and chaining the major devils that interfere in our affairs. This relief comes and goes quickly, or “FAST”! (Pun Intended) Special Thanks to one of my mentors for sharing this point. We recorded 2 parts this is the first of the videos.
I’ve have stumbled many times in my life and I have been at my worst and I was on the verge of giving up. The walls felt as though they were closing in on me.
I have had several near death experiences, or things I’ve walked away from with just a couple of contusions or at the worst a high ankle sprain.
The link that all these have in common was I remembered calling out to Allah when I was in dire need and he answered.
I’ve seen things come to fruition that I have asked for and more came with it more than I could have ever imaged. You reading this from me currently, is a dua answered from our Creator.
I get very emotional and long-winded when it comes to how merciful Allah has been to me in my short life on this earth. Some things can not be explained in a quick blog post.
My point is this, NEVER fail to call Your Lord no matter the situation. HE will always answer. Heading into these last 10 night of Ramadan, I plan on plenty of “Face Time” (praying in sujood). This is where we lay it all out and leave the outcome of affairs we desire to have here in these last ten night.
Allah is waiting for us to call on Him & He will respond.
“If my servant asks of me, indeed I am near”.
